Tip 1: The first impression is everything. Make sure you put the necessary thoughtfulness into your application. No shortcuts. Tip 2: Experience usually counts more than a theoretical background. Just because you don't have a degree shouldn't be an obstacle. Demonstrate that you are good with children is what matters.
Tip 3: Make sure you really pick the right family. Setup calls with them and ask uncomfortable questions to get it right from the start.
Tip 4: Au Pair is not about getting rich. It's about gaining experience in a foreign country and in a new situation. Those should be the reasons for you to go, not the monetary gain. |
